Factors That Affect The Flight Characteristics Of Arrow cont…

Posted by archeryandbow on February 25, 2008

Once the arrow leaves the bow, certain conditions will take place initially after which they will not have any impact on the flight characteristics of arrow. So, if you notice your arrow flying too slow or too fast after it exits the bow, you will have a good idea of whether the arrow is suitable for your needs or whether you will need slower or faster arrows.

Keeping in mind all these factors, you can use computers or other means to study the flight characteristics of arrows and make any needed adjustments in order to get best results.

Factors That Affect The Flight Characteristics Of Arrow cont…

Posted by archeryandbow on February 21, 2008

Understanding the flight characteristics of arrow is not an easy task and very often people that study these characteristics make a model of the whole thing while also using flight simulations on computers to arrive at the exact factors that determine how well an arrow will fly through the air.

Of course, things such as the weight and length as well as diameter of the arrow are usually invariable and are usually dependent on matching the arrows with their bows. On shooting the arrow from the bow, the flight characteristics of arrow include speed, which way the flight is headed, and its rotation as well as angle. In order to understand what the arrow is going to do when shot from a bow, the properties of the arrow along with those of its flight characteristics need to be studied which will help understand why an arrow behaves in a certain manner till such time as it reaches its target. And, the flight characteristics of arrow are also dependent on external forces such as drag, gravity as well as shedding its vortex, with one more variable factor being the wind.

Factors That Affect The Flight Characteristics Of Arrow

Posted by archeryandbow on February 18, 2008

Though the archer must have great skills in his craft, there is a lot that depends on the flight characteristics of arrow, which will help in achieving greater accuracy and therefore better results from shooting the arrows. Of the many different factors affecting the flight characteristics of arrow there are included its flight path and distance to target as well as wind, length of arrow and the angle at which it is initially set at plus the weight of the arrow.

A Few Important Factors Concerning Flight characteristics of arrow

Posted by archeryandbow on February 15, 2008

Man has been using bows and arrows since the Paleolithic times and a lot of water has flown beneath the bridge since that time including the total obsolescence of archery from warfare and also from hunting. That is not to say that enough care has not been taken to improve archery over the years. For, far from being neglected, archery has achieved a greater degree of perfection as compared to those ancient times that have seen it move through many stages of development and different styles including clout shooting, rover shooting and finally, butt shooting.

About The Arrow

Posted by archeryandbow on February 11, 2008

Now, when creating your own arrow, what you would need is a feather (usually for embellishment and for greater swifter flight), a thin piece of wood, rock or blade, or glass. These are all your materials in creating a primitive arrow but rest assured that with all the proper applications, they are surely great into targeting your goal.

Attach a one meter long piece of thin wood (keep it rounded) to the metal or rock that would serve as a point for your arrow. After which, you could then attach numbers of feather at the other end of the arrow for embellishment or for greater flight.

This may seem easy, but knowing the proper dimensions for these bow and arrow are the key to making them last a lifetime. Give them a try and have the kind of experience of fun and sportsmanship the people before us had with them.

What You Would Need For Your Bow And Arrow

Posted by archeryandbow on February 9, 2008

One of the very obvious materials that you need in making your own bow and arrow is wood and one of the best woods that you could use for your bow is the bamboo. Not only because of their quality of being flexible, but also they are strong and resilient as well. Or what you could do is select any hardwood stick that you know could be resilient to any pressure and cut them one meter long. Free them from all scraps and knots so that they would be smooth to touch, keep in mind that each end of the wood should have the same pull as the other. Naturally, the bow should then have its natural curve from the constant practice of pulling and examination. Do not forget to create a carved spot in the middle where your aim or arrow should be placed when taking a shot.

Choose a strong string for you to tie around both ends of the wood wherein you could take aim and pull the arrow for the target. The string should be resilient yet flexible to guarantee to last for so long.
